It has a domestic consumption of over 156000MT with nearly 95% of the production constituted in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Due to their dry characteristic, raisins are rich in vitamins, minerals, polyphenol antioxidants and healthy sugar. It is due to this that raisins are considered to be a healthy alternative to sugar.
